Backflip & Ticketmaster Online-CitySearch Form Strategic Partnership
San Francisco and Pasadena, Calif, September 5th, 2000 -- Ticketmaster Online-CitySearch (NASDAQ:TMCS), and Backflip, Inc. today announced a strategic partnership that enables users to create a personalized view of the TMCS network of sites by using Backflip to easily save, share and tour the important pages they find on Ticketmaster.com, Citysearch.com, LiveDaily.com, Match.com, LiveAuction.com, and AstroAbby.com.
"We are delighted to partner with Backflip to provide our users with tools to help them get the most out of their cities," said Dan Marriott, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development for TMCS. "We believe that our users will appreciate the convenience of the Backflip service when sharing our award winning content with their friends."
Under the agreement, TMCS will join over 300 other partners in the Backflip Network, and Backflip will be integrated into all of TMCS' domestic sites. Backflip will leverage its recently released suggestion engine technology to provide Backflip users with links to TMCS content based on each user's interests.
"Ticketmaster Online-CitySearch has a large active user base that puts them at the top of our list for strategic partners," said Tim Hickman, President & CEO of Backflip. "Our existing users already 'backflip' lots of TMCS pages, so there was no doubt that this deal made sense."
