Cookies
Cookies make it easy and effortless for you to sign in to password protected Web sites from your computer. A cookie is information that a Web site puts on your hard disk so that it can remember something about you at a later time. Web users must agree to let cookies be saved for them, but, in general, it helps Web sites to serve users better. For more information on this and other internet terms try www.whatis.com.

Domain
Basically, domains are sites or collections of sites. On the Internet, a domain consists of a set of network addresses. This domain is organized in levels. The top level identifies geographic or purpose commonality (for example, the nation that the domain covers or a category such as "commercial"). The second levelidentifies a unique place within the top level domain and is, in fact, equivalent to a unique address on the Internet (or IP). Lower levels of domain may also be used.

Folders
A folder is an area that contains a group of pages. With Backflip you're free to create any folder you wish. When you backflip a new page you can place it in one of your folders or leave it unfiled.

Homepage
Also referred to as "Home". This is the top level view of your My Folders page.

iTixs
We were known to the world as "iTixs" before we launched our flagship product, Backflip. Due to the innovative nature of Backflip we chose to operate in 'stealth mode' in order to stay 'under the radar'.

Join
This is the process of establishing an account with Backflip. This registration process establishes a unique username and password combination, so that only you can access your Backflip information. The process also guides you through the steps needed to upload your information.

Links Toolbar
This is a toolbar near the top of the Internet Explorer browser. It's the destination for your Backflip It! button. If you're not sure it's up there, select View -> "Toolbars" -> Links.

Pages
Each screen of information that appears in your browser is a page. For instance, the information on this screen constitutes a page - the glossary page. When you backflip a page you can give it any name you wish. This page name is shown in Backflip to make it easier for you to find what you want.

Personal Toolbar
This is a toolbar near the top of the Netscape browser. It's the destination for your Backflip It! button. If you're not sure it's up there, select View -> "Show" -> Personal Toolbar.

Profile
Your profile includes information about your account including your preferences. You access your profile by clicking the My Account tab.

Search My Backflip
This is a powerful feature available only to Backflip users. Search My Backflip allows you to search only the pages that you have found useful. You use Search My Backflip like many popular internet search engines, but it looks specifically at your Backflip pages.

Server
A server is a high powered computer that processes information for other "client" computers.

This is the process of entering your username and password to gain access to your secure information. If you clicked the "cookie" option when you joined, you automatically skip this step when entering Backflip from the computer where you joined.

Sign Out
Signing Out exits you from Backflip. No one can access your account when you are signed out unless they enter your User Name and Password. Even if you originally chose the option to keep your password in a cookie, when you sign out this option is disabled until you check it again.

Site
A site, or "Web site", is a place on the internet that contains a group of related information. For instance, www.backflip.com is a site. Within the site are several pages that users navigate.

Startpage
This is the page that displays when you click the Home in your browser. Depending on your browser settings it is also the first page shown when you launch a new browser window. See your browser documentation for further information.

Top Ten
Top Ten lists display most frequently visited sources.

My Top Ten: These are your personal Favorites based on usage. From the top level of the My Folders page the Top Ten list shows the pages you visit most often. From the My Sites A-Z section, Top Ten shows the sites you visit most often.

Collective Top Ten: If you are looking within a folder the Top Ten list shows the sites most frequently visited by all Backflip users who have folders with similar names.

Unfiled
Pages that have not been placed in a folder are unfiled.

Uploading
Uploading is downloading, but in the opposite direction. When you upload information, you are sending information from your computer to another computer. For instance, when you upload your Bookmarks/Favorites, you are sending the information to Backflip's server where you can access them anytime, anywhere.

Web Discoveries
Your Web discoveries are the pages that you've found interesting that you'll want to find again.
